About The Instructor Jami Powell

Jami Powell has loved horses since she could say the word. She went various horse camps, took lessons,
clinics, and has shown dressage,  jumping, and hunter. 
She started teaching at 14 with a friend's young daughter,  Jami 
learned she had a passion for teaching kids how to ride and care for horses. She became certified with the American Riding Instructor Association when she was 18 in Dressage and Stable Management. She started her own barn at that time. 

    She founded New Hope Haven, a mentorship 501c3 that helped kids and adults alike, that had struggled with various emotional difficulties such as depression, suicide, abuse, and abandonment. She has experience managing/ working at small and large farms.  Jami has also worked at different therapy 
farms and has taught riders with various physical and mental difficulties. She has trained and rescued many horses. With a love for kids, she always wants her students to accomplish their dreams. She currently is enjoying mounted archery, training
her colt, and teaching lessons in Wilmington NC.
